2014 – 2018
From conception to crowdfunding success
Moasure is the world's first motion-based measuring tool. It's built using high-performance inertial sensors, all packed into a device that fits in the palm of your hand.
Alan Rock, founder and co-CEO, visualized this idea in 2004 to solve a DIY problem he experienced at home. Despite being told it wasn't possible to create the imagined solution, the technology finally caught up with the concept – and with successful crowdfunding, Moasure was made.
2019

Moasure ONE ships & innovation continues
In 2019, Moasure began shipping its unique product, Moasure ONE, to over 2,500 pre-order customers, marking a significant step forward in its distribution efforts. That same year, Moasure's pioneering efforts were recognized with the Hottest Startup Award at CES, underscoring its emerging presence and impact in the tech industry.
Continuing its trajectory of growth and innovation, Moasure consistently introduced new features for Moasure ONE by way of app updates throughout 2020 and 2021, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to improving and expanding its offering to meet customer needs and enhance the user experience.
2022 – 2023
International expansion & growth
Moasure significantly expanded its global footprint in 2022 and 2023, by launching 11 international websites, and reaching audiences in key markets such as Australia, Canada and Germany, among others. This strategic move enabled the company to ship its products to 92 countries worldwide, reflecting its growing international appeal.
Concurrently, the team experienced a period of rapid growth to support this expansion, and enhance product development. One notable achievement during this time was a substantial update to the Moasure app, introducing Volume and 3D Terrain features, marking a significant advancement in both its technological capabilities and user offering.

The Moasure 2 Series launches
In July 2024, Moasure reached a pivotal moment in its innovation journey, launching a brand-new generation of motion-based measuring devices – the Moasure 2 Series – comprising Moasure 2 and Moasure 2 PRO.
Following Moasure ONE’s worldwide success, the Moasure 2 Series builds on the groundbreaking capabilities of the pioneering first-generation product, and benefits from several technological enhancements, such as: improved measurement accuracy, enhanced battery life, USB-C charging, and more. Moasure 2 PRO also features exclusive Layout mode, allowing users to accurately set out points based on existing Moasure files or inputted coordinates.
The Moasure 2 Series launch is one of the company’s most significant achievements to date, underpinned by a dedication to technological innovation and user satisfaction.

Significant app updates
In February 2025, App Update 3.0 was launched, Moasure’s most significant app update to date, packed with productivity-boosting features – and completely free for Moasure users to download. App Update 3.0 saw a whole new look for the Moasure app, along with the addition of Area Calculator, Color Layers, Scale Grid & Marker, new CAD exporting options, 3D Contour View, and the ability to Label & Ignore points while measuring.

Moasure works by using inertial motion sensors to track how users are moving it in 3D space.
As you move, the device calculates how far you're moving it and in which direction, and it does that hundreds of times each second. The 3D measurement is drawn live in the app as you measure, and it does all of this without GPS, Wi-Fi, phone signal or line of sight, requiring only a Bluetooth connection to link the device to the app.
Moasure's engineering team is continually working on updates to algorithms to create even more powerful features for users, regularly pushing out app updates that are completely free for existing users to download.
